In 2016, I decided to leave the Chinese-Dutch Evangelical denomination in which I was raised. I felt limited by the views of the community. This process is the opposite of my parents: After migrating to the Netherlands in the 80's, they made a conscious decision to go to church and raise their children with the bible.​

Many Members, One Body revisits the value of the importance of Christian faith for the social position of the Chinese diaspora in the Netherlands. For this, I collected memories and bible verses that motivated the members to become an active part of their congregation. These conversations allowed me to reflect on the limitations he felt growing up in that community. The outcomes of the project are artefacts that portray the specific bible verses and personal stories they shared, embedded in fragments of the church chairs I seated every Sunday.
